Charlotte tried out our neighbor David's drum set a few days ago with Dan's help. While she didn't exactly show an aptitude for rhythm or display any technique to indicate we have a protege on our hands, she did seem to have a certain flair for waving the sticks around.
Um, I think you're supposed to hit the DRUM head -- not YOUR head.

Pa-rum-pa-pum-pum!

I think we need some pedal extensions for the bass drum. LONG pedal extensions.

Awww.... Uncle Andrew will be so proud when he sees this!!!
I don't know who enjoyed that more- Dan or CJ!
MSU SMB Drumline, here she comes! I can just see her, 19 years from now, in the middle of the snares coming across the Kalamazoo Steet Bridge with the band!

Corey, Uncle Andrew would be happy to give Charlittle free lessons to increase the odds of that scenario happening!
Now I know what to buy Charlotte as a b-day gift someday. I think a drum kit would be a great addition to your family room! :)
I'll buy the ear plugs for Niki and Corey.... I sometimes ask Andrew's mother how she survived having a drummer for a son, and she just vaguely says, "Oh, I liked hearing him play." I'm almost positive that she must have kept a stash of ear plugs handy....

While we appreciate your enthusiasm for contributing to Charlie's education in the arts, please be warned - if you guys try to get something started giving obnoxious gifts to Charlie for the sole purpose of annoying Niki and me, we will return the favor with Baby Sanderson. We already have a list going. And it's not pretty. I can tell you there is an accordian and a "My First Weasel" kit in there (contains 1 guinea pig, 1 hampster, and 2 ferrets) . . .
Yes, I think we all remember what happened when Aunt Martha bought Corey a fish...a one-man band was Uncle Larry's next gift to me and Katie:-)
