Getting Charlotte to smile for the camera is ridiculously hard. She really is a happy little kid, but I have thousands of photos of the girl looking dour. Lately, she has gotten the concept of saying "cheese" for the camera, but she can do it without looking even remotely happy. Witness:

Sometimes, her "cheese" almost looks like a smile, but she has to be super excited and on a boat for something like that to happen.

Other times, accessories thwart her attempts at posing for the camera.

Any suggestions?

I say just go for the natural look and forget trying to make her smile...or can you practice making smiles together in front of a mirror? Grandma JoJo
but her teethy grimace is so gosh darn adorable. I love it! You could all smile just like that when there's a family picture -- it'll be great!
Joslyne- funny you should say that. FC did that for awhile at about this age. My (wise) friend Craig said, while taking pix during a visit, "Let's just smile like her!" We did, and later re-enacted that pic a couple years ago. I'm putting both pics in a frame to give him this summer. Our families are sharing a lake house. Can't wait to give it to him, it's hilarious!
